I found a 98 Wrangler Sahara on Ebay. Its everything I have been looking for, V6 A/C and not too bad on the miles BUT its a hard top... :( Can I put a soft top on it without it costing me an arm and a leg??? It does have full doors.

Thanks!!!

You should be able to sell the hardtop for enough money to buy a softop and hardware. (If the hardtop is in nice condition and not a weird color.)

SORRY inline 6 my bad. :p

Cove,
I kinda like the idea of keeping the hardtop to run in the winter. Now I know that a hard top can be taken off and a soft top put on, hopefully it will be easier to find one. Honestly I can't wait to get one and put a lift on it and some big ole tires so I can hit ****/**** trail over in *****. I turned my 4wheeler over down there a couple years back and hurt myself pretty good. Its time for some pay backs.

so I can hit east/west trail over in Delta.

Sounds like illegal wheeling.... Here's a tip...don't do that.

BTW I noticed you're in Joppa, do you know a kid with a big red 4runner that's all hacked up and running 37's?

****/**** trail is an actual road with houses on it up off ******** rd. It pretty much has been washed out over the years. If it was illegal I have never heard anything about it and I lived in that area for many years... I'm NOT trying to be a smart azz. If you know for sure its illegal i'd like to know.

As for with the 4runner... That sounds like the kid that hangs out over at the neighbor house on Joppa Farm Rd at the top of the hill by Breslin. They seem like a good bunch of kids that hang out out over there.

I doubt your thinking of the same person... I don't think my brother has any friends that actually live in Joppatowne... We live up in Joppa.

This is his truck(he also drives it on the street, not just trailered)

I haven't bought a new soft top and hardware. but, I hear you can get a soft top with hardware with or with out doors for about $700. you can run full doors with it, or buy half doors and upper windows. you can also look around for a used soft top for cheap. try starting here- http://www.quadratec.com/default.php

we order most of our parts from them, always ships fast.

I can say I have never seen that truck.... My husband grew up in Joppa, over there by Paul's lane on RT7. In fact Paul's lane was named after his grandfather who had a business back there by the railroad tracks.

Thanks Joop!! I just heard that my neighbor has one in storage that is in good shape. I'm gonna talk to him and see if he wants to part with it once I find one to put it on.:(

Forget a factory style soft top and get one of these:

or just run Bikini and Tonue w/ wind jammer for the summer... HT in the winter...

Thanks for the help but I ended up buying one with a soft top. I may eventually get a hard top for it but right now I would rather put the money into lifting it a little and a better sound system.... I see this thing being a major money pit but a lot of fun!!

Watch the sound system and the soft top. The more someone can tell its there the more likely it won't be there one time when you come back to the Jeep.
