I've got a slow coolant leak at the front of my engine and I haven’t had a chance yet to get a good look at it, but my first guess is the water pump. Anyone have any experience with these on the Cummins? Fairly straight forward repair or PITA? It’s on a 2005 Dodge Ram with 5.9 Cummins.
Thanks,
Rip

Water pump is a 20 minute job on my truck, I imagine its probably the same on yours. Just make sure its not a head gasket

The hardest part is getting the belt off and then back on. the water pump is a simple 2-bolt unit that goes on the front of the block, no gasket, just a rubber seal that sits in a groove on the pump.

most likely leaking at the shaft seal, thats where mine leaked when it went bad.

New water pump waiting for pick up. I'll hopefully do the install tonight or tomorrow night.
