Hey guys, I'm trying to finsh my upper arms on my long arm build. I don't have access to factory specs etc. So do you know what the factory specs for the front pinion and caster is?

My Current Specs are these:
Front Driveshaft - 12*
Front Pinion - 6*
Caster - 10* leaning towards rear of jeep.

I took the caster measurment off the top of the balljoint. I have a come-along on the diff to rotate it, and right now its just Eyeballin' close. This is on a 94 Grand Cherokee with a Dana 30, and roughly 7" of lift.

Suggestions? Thanks!
Rick

I would shoot for about 7* caster

that will also help rotate your pinion up 3* as well

The FSM for a 95 XJ (same d30 axle) calls for 7.07* of caster. It lists the OK range as 5.25-8*. There is a side note that says "Changing caster angle will also change propeller shaft (driveshaft) angle. The propeller shaft angle has priority over the caster angle."

There is no specific number listed in the FSM for pinion angle. It only says that "Ideally the driveline system should have a 3 degree maximum operating angle". In this case I believe they are talking about the difference between the pinion angle and the driveshaft angle.

I'm going to start callling my driveshafts propeller shafts:)

When they start having fins and my jeep floats, not sinks, I'll call the propellers lol.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll do a little more tweaking.

Thanks
